Beeston is Nottingham’s most popular area for home-movers, with 11.8% of people moving to the city choosing the area.
Konnect You analysed moving data from just under 1,500 people who relocated to Nottingham. Beeston came out on top, followed by Arnold, West Bridgford, Eastwood and Long Eaton.
Beeston has also seen demand rise, while more affordable areas such as Eastwood, Carlton and Long Eaton recorded some of the strongest growth.

Beeston has overtaken Arnold to become Nottingham’s most popular area for home-movers.
Its average house price is £287,731, making it more expensive than Arnold, Eastwood, Long Eaton and Mapperley. Its average monthly rent is also one of the highest in the top 10.
That suggests people are not choosing Beeston on price alone. Transport links, local amenities and its own town-centre feel may all be helping to drive demand.
Eastwood saw the strongest growth, with mover demand rising by 41.3%.
Carlton also saw a sharp increase of 31.7%, while Long Eaton rose by 24.3%. All three areas are among the more affordable places to buy or rent in the top 10.
This suggests affordability is still shaping where people move in Nottingham, even though Beeston remains the most popular area overall.

“Beeston combines easy access to Nottingham city centre with a strong town-centre feel of its own. With NET tram stops and a railway station, commuting is straightforward, but the appeal goes beyond convenience.
“The Square and recent public-space improvements make Beeston feel like a destination in its own right, not just a nearby commuter base.
“Arnold also has good connections into the city, although it relies mainly on bus routes. However, it does not offer the same town-centre atmosphere as Beeston, and tends to feel more suburban overall. That could be why Beeston is gaining popularity over Arnold.
“The link between affordability and annual growth is worth paying attention to. As demand rises and the market stays steady, house prices in more affordable areas can increase.”

Eastwood, Carlton and Long Eaton all saw strong growth, while Arnold, West Bridgford and Keyworth saw demand fall. This points to a mixed market, where lifestyle, transport and affordability all play a part.
For anyone planning a move in Nottingham, the data shows why it is worth looking beyond the ranking alone. House prices, rent, commute, local amenities, schools and long-term affordability can all affect which area feels right.
